Hi,

I'm working on FreeBSD 10.3.
I have maia 1.0.4 installed.
I seem to have everything else (postfix, dovecot, spamassassin, etc etc
) all working.

However, trying to get maiad to start, it doesn't.

I've traced (trussed) the startup. It seems to 'just exit'. There
doesn't seem to be any issue. It just doesn't start.

Anyone have pointers as to where to look?

Thank you,

P.

What does /var/log/maillog say when you try to start maiad?

Janky Jay,

It's all good. I realized what was happening was that I had a separate
amavis package running. I turned on debugging and found that there were
two processes attempting to access 127.0.0.1:10023. (Yeah, initially, I
missed the debug option.) However, there were also a large amount of
things that didn't seem to work correctly in the PHP interface. I tried
changing several options and the button responded but nothing was
changed. After evaluating Maia, it's very cool but quite a bit of
overkill. Virtual mailboxes, domains, etc. Seems to be something that a
provider would use Postfix and amavis. We're a lot simpler in that
internal/external networks and just the internal domains are fine. :-)

Maia is a nice piece of work though.

Thank you for the response,

P.
